Prayer 101 - Part 26: Who Rules?

The Bible reveals that this world is not really ruled by presidents, dictators, prime ministers, premiers, kings and governors. They only seem to rule. The people who really rule are those who know how to pray. The question is: HAVE WE PRAYED EFFECTIVE PRAYERS FOR GOOD GOVERNMENT? If not, NOW IS THE TIME.

1 Tim 2:1-4

WHY PRAY FOR GOVERNMENT? So that we may live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.

WHY ARE WE IN SUCH A MESS?

Could it be that we have not prayed as we ought?

Could it be we have prayed, but without knowing the will of God?

We have been lured into thinking it’s beyond our control. That there is nothing we can do. We are convinced we are helpless. We criticise. We complain. But we fail to pray. We have not understood the limitless possibilities of praying according to God’s will as revealed in His Word. We have failed to rule in God’s kingdom the way He intends.

THIS MUST STOP!

A CITY SET ON A HILL

We are watched

We are visible

The church in the workplace

YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD

No substitute

The only answer to darkness

THE SALT OF THE EARTH

We give the earth flavour

Flavour for God and for good

We hold back corruption - pre-refrigeration salt was used to preserve meat. If we don’t take up this responsibility the world will trample us

THE REMEDY

2 Chron 7:14

WHAT WE MUST DO

Humility

Pray

Seek God’s face - pray until we know we have met Him and the answer is on the way

Turn from our wicked ways - prayerlessness, lack of witnessing, lack of forthright righteousness which challenges the ungodly and the unbeliever

WHAT GOD WILL DO

He will hear from heaven

He will forgive our sin - the sin of His people

He will heal our land

But remember this is a conditional promise

WILL WE TAKE UP THE CALL?
