PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS & TIPS
(I am not a financial adviser. I can only share what has personally helped me and my family throughout the decades.)
Mark 12:41-44 Look at the widow’s mite ( Roman quadrant - smallest coin, 1/8th cent) - it’s the act of giving in faith.
No matter your financial position be a CONDUIT - not a DAM. Be a giver according to Luke 6:38

INVESTMENT - In business I ignored instant gratification(the bane of the modern age) and chose rather to invest in my life, and into the lives of my children who worked with me in business. Don’t just spend. Save. Give. Invest. Chop your credit cards up. Make it your goal to reduce debt. Invest in your personal development and ongoing spiritual and educational development FIRST! It pays dividends that will hold you in good stead in the years to come. No matter your current financial state, start TODAY!
MONEY MANAGEMENT - Any money coming into your household - follow The Barefoot Investors guidelines. 10%SMILE(for holidays - we all need a break), 10%SPLURGE(anyone for coffee?), 20%FIRE EXTINGUISHER(ready for anything out of the ordinary that happens) and the remainder 60% for DAILY EXPENSES. He suggested ING to set these up easily. Make it your mission to destroy your credit cards forever. Start to develop a MOJO account alongside in another account. Build it little by little so that you can handle any employment interruption for a time. I personally use ME Bank for mine. Now a word to some of you facing financial challenges right now: you might say that you have to reach up to touch bottom. Well I’ve been there. God is faithful to those who even in their direst situations continue to give or sow seed. No matter how small. For those who sow will reap. Give and it shall be given unto you good measure pressed down and shaken together shall men give unto you. My family have lived this for decades. Because we choose to walk by faith His supply has always come as we chose to seek Him. For as His promise says - Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. Prove God’s Word at this time and see what amazing testimony you will begin to build. I dare you!
FINANCE PREPARATION SUGGESTION - Purchase a safe (Bunnings sell affordable safes)remove cash from your bank accounts incrementally. Is the interest rate that attractive? Banks can freeze accounts. And you thought it was your money, didn’t you? Don’t be the one rushing for the ATM when everyone else is running to them. Silver and gold too is achievable. You don’t need to be a millionaire to own. Check out The Perth Mint website. Silver coins are not out of reach. They can in fact increase in value. But don’t listen just to me. Do your own research. The aim is this. Take government control out of your financial lives.
FOOD SUGGESTION - Stock up on extra non perishable groceries. You may find yourself helping your neighbours. Start a veggie patch. This can be as little as putting some rocket in a pot. Begin now. Also make yourself aware of local producers of organic fruit and vegetables. Widen your network of local suppliers in your community outside the monopolies.
CREDIT CARDS - A discussion with my grandchildren. On Saturday I had this discussion with two of my grandchildren (9 & 7). I told them that I had chopped up my credit cards a long time ago. They were horrified. They wanted to know more. I explained to them that when we use a credit card to buy say something worth $100, our purchase has actually cost us $120. I asked them if this was a good purchase. They said NO.
